A neighborhood fixture for over 40 years Columbus Avenue Wines & Spirits is a big, friendly, and well-stocked wine store with competitive prices and a large selection of wines, spirits, fortified wines, and liquors.  Wines are organized by country and specials are always featured in the front of the store. 

What's great:  They have one of the largest kosher wine selections in the city.  They have temperature controlled storage.  And if there's something you want and they don't carry it, they'll do a special order for you.

What to know:  They offer free delivery anywhere in Manhattan and can also ship UPS anywhere in the U.S.  Tastings are held frequently and a schedule is posted on their website.
